St. Kitts Music Festival 2011 - June 23-25, 2011

Today is the first of three nights of the St Kitts Music Festival 2011 on the Caribbean island of St. Kitts -Nevis. And yes, the music festival was one of the main reasons to pick St Kitts as our vacation destination for this year - along with the great weather, the beautiful beaches, the friendly people and our nice hotel...

One of the best hotels on the island is the St. Kitts Marriott Resort & The Royal Beach Casino... we've been there before (back in December 2005), so we knew what to expect. And the hotel most certainly does not disappoint... long and wide strip of white sandy beach with enough beachhuts and chairs, multiple large pools, spacy rooms, good service, ...

For the latest news on the music line up, check the St. Kitts Music Festival Facebook page. A lot of local artists from the various islands, some olde bands (like UB40 and The Commodors), and some younger reggae stars like Gyptian.

Here is the current line up of the St Kitts Music Festival 2011 :

• Thursday: Cocoa Tea, Yellow Man, Nu Vybes Band International, Small Axe Band, Ali Campbell's UB40, Bunny Wailer, King Konris
• Friday: Gyptain, Demarco, Konshens, Blak Ryno, Maxi Priest
• Saturday: The Commodores, Jah Cure, Fantasia, East Meets West

Most of the artists have arrived in our hotel... And yesterday night we ended up in the same beachbar as the UB40 guys (The Shipwreck, a great little place at an otherwise deserted beach).

We got ourselves some VIP tickets for the first day of the festival, such that we are sure to enjoy the acts, drinks, food, atmosphere, ...
